WA’s Department of Transport has awarded Skywest Airlines a 12 month extension on the Perth to Derby (Curtin) Regular Public Transport (RPT) route.

Skywest took over the service in February following the collapse of Air Australia. It currently operates a 162-seat Airbus A320 on the route from Mondays to Thursday and flies a 100-seat Fokker 100 on Fridays.

“Skywest is committed to offering long-term support to regional communities, and we look forward to the opportunity to deliver a reliable and high quality service to meet the needs of individuals and businesses in the Derby community,” Skywest CEO Jason Bitter said in a statement.
